Event Arch For The Sunflower Dash

Event Arch For The Sunflower Dash

The Leukaemia Foundation is dedicated to assisting people living with the diagnosis and has a goal to ensure there will be no fatality from blood cancer by 2035. Part of the way they fund these activities is by running various events across Australia to help raise funds and awareness for the cause.

Considering the organisation’s upstanding vision and mission, we were beyond honoured to collaborate with them on several occasions. For their Sunflower Dash, the foundation requested an event arch for the finish line that will bring a little sunshine into the lives of patients and encourage people to donate to a worthy cause at the same time.

The Event Arch Idea

The Leukaemia Foundation wanted a special arch for a special event, a sentiment we wholeheartedly agreed with.

Although the Sunflower Dash was a one-time event, the client put in a request for an event arch that can be repurposed for other activities in the future. We made a note of their need for branding flexibility when coming up with our designs.

Of course, the central theme of the fundraising activity which was sunflower had to be incorporated into the design and we wanted the arch to be as eye-catching as possible. After some brain-storming sessions between our team and the client to make sure our visions were aligned, the project continued to its design stage.

Brighter Than the Sun

The best word to describe how our creative team felt upon starting on the drawings for the event arch is overjoyed.

After careful consideration of the given specifications, our team came up with visually appealing 2D designs for the arch and banners. These images that were sent to the client included details of the internal dimensions of the arch and banners, as well as the position of the metal rings needed to set up the final product.

Artwork Design For The Event Arch

The Sunflower Dash inflatable event arch also has a unique design: it has a square shape as opposed to angled corners, which are more frequently used by other clients.

Once the 2D drawings were approved by the client, 3D renderings of the event arch were made using CAD software. This crucial step allowed the design to be studied from every angle, so the client could see what the final product would look like. After the 3D designs received the client’s approval, we passed on the baton to our manufacturing team.

Bringing The Event Arch To Life

The production process of an event arch generally takes 2 to 3 weeks from the day the final designs were accepted.

We began with ordering print samples in order to make sure the sunflowers in the banner would have the bright, vibrant yellow colour we wanted it to. The base arch was made from white stock colour material which helped the sunflowers stand out even more.

Removable banners with Velcro backing were placed at the top of the arch and on its legs. This way, the client can reuse the event arch for another occasion, and should they need to update their sponsors from year to year, they would only need to shoulder the cost of ordering new banners and not an entirely new arch.

Sunflower Event Arch

Our team did a wonderful job printing, cutting, and sewing the material to create a striking arch for the Sunflower Dash.

After the final product was completed, our team carried out quality control procedures before delivering the event arch to the client. The procedures were done to note any deviations from the designs, no matter how small, so they could be reported to the client. They also helped check that the event arch can be set up without difficulties.

The Day of the Sunflower Dash

On the day of the event, many Canberians united for the good cause on the day of the Sunflower Dash, holding stalks of sunflowers in their hands or wearing sunflowers in their hair or on their clothes as a symbol of hope, in line with the theme of the event.

Event Arch For Leukaemia

The client was thrilled with the product and so were the participants of the event, if the wide smiles on their faces were any indication of their satisfaction. The arch was super easy to set up and successfully fulfilled its purpose to draw attention. We could not be more elated to have contributed to an important cause.
